  • Scroll down and you will find the option of ‘For Correction of Particulars in the electoral roll, use Form 8’.
  • Click on ‘Online’.
  • Further, a new page will open up.
  • Click on ‘Correction of entries in an electoral roll’.
  • Form 8 will open up.
  • You can fill the form in Hindi, English, or Malayalam.
  • After duly filling the form. Click on ‘Submit’.
  • You are going to further receive a Reference Number.
  • As and when the electoral officers verify your request, they shall send you a Voter ID with the changed address.
  • The electoral roll of the concerned constituency will thus be updated.

In case the Voter ID holder moves to a different address, but within the same Assembly Constituency, they need to take the following steps

  • Visit the website of the Chief Electoral Officer of your respective State/Union Territory.
  • Scroll down and you will find the option of ‘For a change of address within the Assembly Constituency, use Form 8A’.
  • Click on ‘Online’.
  • Further, click on the option of ‘Transposition within Assembly’.
  • The Form 8A will open up.
  • Fill the details in the form in the choice of your language.
  • Attach your photograph and address proof.
  • Then, click on ‘Submit’.
  • You are going to further receive a Reference Number.
  • As and when the electoral officers verify your request, they shall send you a Voter ID with the changed address.

There is an offline method to change the address in the Voter ID as well. The applicant needs to take the following steps for that

  • Visit your nearest electoral office and get hold of Form 8A.
  • Fill the form with all the details.
  • Then, attach an address proof to the form.
  • Submit the form to the nearest electoral officer.
  • You will further receive a Reference Number.
  • As and when the electoral officers verify your request, they shall send you a Voter ID with the changed address.
  • Hence, the electoral roll of the concerned constituency will get updated with changes made.
