PAN refers to the Permanent Account Number issued by the IT department under the control and regulation of the Central Board of Direct Taxes to anyone who applies for the same. Any person can apply for a PAN Card via online mode either through:
• NSDL OR
Both the websites have been fully authenticated by the Government of India for the issuance of PAN Card or for making any kind of changes/corrections in the PAN Card to the applicants after the complete verification of all the documents submitted by the applicants.
Step to apply for a PAN card
Log on to the official NSDL Portal.
Fill in all the necessary details in the application form and click on the “submit button”.
A new page will open where a token number will be generated.
Furthermore, click on “Continue with PAN application.”
On the next page, three options will appear (a) Submit digitally through e-KYC & e-Sign (Paperless) (b) Submit scanned images through e-Sign (c) Forward application documents physically.
For saving time, one should avail of the e-KYC option.
Further, enter your aadhaar no. and the name of your parent and Click on the “Next button.”
Once you will click the next option, a new page will appear.
Now, enter the following details:
After entering all the details, click on the “next button”.

Further, click on the “next button.” After which a new page will appear.
In the new page, upload all the required documents along with a photograph and signature.
Furthermore, make the payment via online mode.
After the payment process, the aadhaar verification process will take place.
The OTP will be sent to your registered mobile/e-mail id linked to your aadhaar no.
Once the aadhaar gets verified, an acknowledgment no. will be generated.
Save and take the print of the acknowledgment for future reference.
Furthermore, the Indian Income Tax Department will issue the PAN card generally within a period of 15 days.
