State Bank of India issues a variety of credit cards in order to cater to different sections of the society. The customers can select one on the basis of their requirements and needs. But for the customers to get access to the credit cards, they need to fulfill the SBI Credit Card Eligibility. The eligibility differs for the salaried employee, self-employed and for the student.

SBI Credit Card Eligibility

SBI Credit Card Eligibility for Salaried Employees

The salaried employees working with any institution must fulfill the following SBI Credit Card Eligibility requirements to get access to credit cards.

  • The minimum age must be 21 years and the maximum can be 60 years.
  • It is a requirement to either be a resident of India or Non-Resident Indian.
  • A good credit score is a necessity. A credit score of 750 is considered a good credit score.
  • No history of defaulting on credit card payments.
  • Should have a regular source of monthly income, above a minimum of INR 18,000.
  • In addition, they must hold the relevant documents to avail the SBI credit cards. They include
    • Identity Proof such as Aadhaar Card, Voter ID Card, PAN Card etc.
    • Address Proof stating the residential address such as a passport or an Election Commision ID Card
    • Passport size photographs
    • Salary slips of the past 2 months

On meeting the above-said requirements, the salaried employees can get access to the SBI Credit Cards.

SBI Credit Card Eligibility for Self-employed

The self-employed workers must fulfill the following SBI Credit Card Eligibility requirements to get access to SBI Credit Cards.

  • The minimum age must be 21 years and the maximum can be 65 years.
  • The applicants should either be a resident of India or Non-Resident Indian.
  • A good credit score is a must. A credit score of 750 is considered a good credit score.
  • In addition, they should not have a history of credit card payment defaults.
  • Should have a regular source of monthly income, above a minimum of INR 18,000.
  • They must hold the relevant documents to avail the SBI credit cards. They include
    • Identity Proof such as Aadhaar Card, Voter ID Card, PAN Card etc.
    • Address Proof stating the residential address such as a passport or an Election Commision ID Card
    • Passport size photographs
    • Income Tax Returns for the past 2 months

On meeting the above-said requirements, the salaried self-employed workers can get access to the SBI Credit Cards

SBI Credit Card Eligibility for Students

Students are eligible to apply for ‘SBI Student Plus Advantage Card’. They need to meet the following requirements to get access to it

  • The student should be a citizen of India.
  • She/he must be above the age of 18 years.
  • The student can avail the credit card on the basis of one of the following
    • She/he must have Fixed Deposit (FD) in their name with the SBI.
    • The relatives of the student can provide the student with an Add-on credit card by applying for an Add-on Form. Although, that family member must have a good credit history for this facility.
    • An existing strong Savings Account of the student with the SBI.
  • They must hold the relevant documents to avail the SBI credit cards. They include
    • Identity Proof such as Aadhaar Card, Voter ID Card, PAN Card etc.
    • College Identity Card
    • College enrolment acknowledgment
    • Birth Certificate
    • Address Proof stating the residential address such as a passport or an Election Commision ID Card.
    • Passport size photographs

Fulfilling these requirements shall enable a student to avail the SBI Student Plus Advantage Card.
