Why is it important to check Aadhaar status online?
Aadhaar card has become important for availing various Government & Non-Government Services, Subsidy Benefits, Pension, Scholarships, Banking services, Insurance services, Taxation services, Education, Healthcare, etc.
On successful enrolment for Aadhaar Card and after the documents have been verified, the authorities may soon dispatch your Aadhaar card.
However, authorities may reject the Aadhaar application due to a lack of documents or because of fake information. Another possibility is that your Aadhaar card may have been dispatched by the authorities but it did not reach you on time. It is important to check Aadhaar card status

The process to check Aadhaar card status
Use your acknowledgment receipt
- You will receive an acknowledgment slip at the time of the registration of the Aadhaar card.
- The acknowledgment slip contains the date and time along with the enrolment ID.
- To check the status of the Aadhaar Card you have to mention the fourteen digit enrollment ID and the 14 digits that make up the date and time of the receipt’s generation.
- For example, if the acknowledgment receipt is generated on January 10, 2017, at 10:02:14, the 14 digits will contain 10/01/2017 10:02:14. Every time you need to check your Aadhaar card status at the UIDAI website you will have to enter a 28 digit Enrolment ID.
Without using the acknowledgment slip
On the loss of acknowledgment slip, retrieve the Enrolment ID and the date and time of the generation of acknowledgment receipt by visiting the UIDAI website.
- First of all, visit the Aadhaar Kiosk page
- Click on the ‘Find UID/EID’ option.
- On this page, you will see there are two options available one option is to retrieve your Aadhaar number and another is to retrieve your 28-digit Enrolment Number (EID).
- You have to choose the EID option.
- Here you need to enter your details such as full name, mobile number, and your email and security code in the end.
- Click on the OTP button.
- The one-time password will be delivered to the registered mobile number.
- Then you will have to enter the OTP you received in the Step 2 column over there. Then click on ‘Verify OTP’.
Once the OTP is verified, the page will display your enrolment number. Use this enrolment number and date/time to fill in the details on the webpage to check Aadhaar Status online. You can Update Aadhaar card details

- The Aadhaar card will be sent to your postal address.
